Voices of TBAuctions: Curiosity and Growth

Welcome to Voices of TBAuctions, an interview series spotlighting the people behind Europe’s leading multi-brand B2B digital auction platform. Through candid conversations with our leaders and team members, we explore who they are, their experiences, insights, and the passion that drives our success.

We are excited to highlight Grégory Courtey, Warehouse Manager at France Médical Enchères (FME), a TBAuctions brand. He manages the FME warehouse in Saint-Germain-de-la-Grange. Focused on growth, both his own and that of the team, he plays a key role in ensuring FME’s operations run smoothly while embracing the future of medical equipment auctions. You can watch the video above or, if you prefer, read the full interview below.

What does a typical day look like for you at FME?

A typical day for me at FME starts with a team meeting. Then I sit down and assign the day’s objectives. After that, it is mostly about running the warehouse. We check whether all the equipment has been received and published for the next auctions.

How would you describe the company culture in three words?

First, teamwork stands out. Our relatively small size enables direct collaboration and seamless knowledge sharing across the company. Second, clarity, as everyone is aware of the importance of their role and the value of giving new life to medical equipment. Third, future, because we are leaning into the future and ready for the latest technologies.

Who is someone at FME from whom you have learned a lot, and what have they taught you?

I was lucky to start my FME journey alongside the salesman, who had deep knowledge of the material, how to value it, and how to test it.

How would you define success in your current role and beyond?

Success for me is seeing the company grow and passing on my expertise to newcomers so they can continue to develop it.

Tell us about a tool, process, or habit that you can’t live without at work.

I’m a very curious person, so I love discovering new equipment, how it works, and how I can use it to run good auctions. So this is my first heartbeat. I like the equipment now. This is not the job I have ever done, as I come from another field, but I started to love the equipment five years ago.

What do you enjoy doing most when you are not working?

In the past, I was an actor, so I am very passionate about movies and TV shows. I spend a lot of time watching new releases. Also, I am a huge basketball fan. Unfortunately, the NBA is in a different time zone, with all games at 2 a.m. or 3 a.m. This means I do not sleep well during the Finals season.
