Voices of TBAuctions: Building Team Spirit and Sustainability

Welcome to Voices of TBAuctions, an interview series spotlighting the people behind Europe’s leading multi-brand B2B digital auction platform. Through candid conversations with our leaders and team members, we explore who they are, their experiences, insights, and the passion that drives our success.

We are excited to highlight Christel Fontaine, HR Manager at France Médical Enchères (FME), a brand part of TBAuctions. You can watch the video above or, if you prefer, read the full interview below!

What’s the most exciting part of your job as an HR Manager?

The most exciting part of my job as HR Manager is taking care of each member of the FME team to ensure a pleasant work environment and a strong team spirit. I also like to take care of the hiring process. Matching the right person to the right job and helping build a high-performing team is really exciting for me. FME is growing fast, and it’s a privilege to support this growth.

What’s one FME value you resonate with most, and why?

Sustainability. Giving a second life to vital medical equipment, which will provide medical assistance to people who really need it. It’s really a concrete way to participate in sustainable development. In France, we can now measure our positive impact on the environment thanks to the sustainability reports we have recently implemented.

If someone were to join the company tomorrow, what advice would you give them?

Be yourself and be involved at 100%. We will learn from you as much as you will learn from us. Sharing competencies and skills is the key driver for a smooth onboarding.

What’s your go-to productivity trick or ritual?

Every morning, I prepare my day with a huge cup of tea, reading my emails, reviewing my agenda, and scheduling my day.

Who has influenced your way of thinking or working?

Our general manager, Jean Pierre Cardozo, values each member of the team and includes them. He knows how to convey his vision to all of us and enables each of us to perform, acting as a mentor.

What do you enjoy doing the most when you’re not working?

I enjoy spending time with my family, especially traveling and discovering other countries and cultures. I also enjoy running in the forest and swimming at the swimming pool with my friends. I love going to the cinema and watching series, and I strongly recommend The White Lotus or Ted Lasso, for instance.
