Klaravik’s Historic Sponsorship Fuels Dreams of Girls’ Hockey in Sweden

During the spring, Klaravik Sweden focused on a major sponsorship project, “Klaravik Plan,” to benefit girls’ hockey. The 38 clubs that won sponsorships were recently announced, with Grästorps IK as the first-prize winner.

“When I got the news that we had received the big sponsorship, I was warm, speechless, and absolutely shaking with joy. This means an incredible amount to us as a club,” said Joakim Nilsson, club manager at Grästorps IK. Thanks to Klaravik’s initiative, the club got to keep the training fee free and organized an inspiring pool cup game with the help of the grant.

When going through the applications, Klaravik’s team read comments such as “We need to borrow equipment from the guys”, “we have to play with the wrong sticks”, “we don’t have uniform jerseys”, and “we don’t have changing rooms” – they helped justify their choice for this year’s scholarship, which turned out to be Sweden’s largest sponsorship initiative for girls’ hockey – ever.

“Working for equal opportunities in sport and sustainable associations is a matter close to our hearts. That’s why girls’ hockey felt so appropriate. The sport is on the threshold of an even bigger breakthrough and with our help, we can hopefully act as an extra outfield player and passer who makes a difference. So that we can realize even more young girls’ hockey dreams”, celebrated Karin Malmberg, Klaravik’s CMO.
